Customer Service Assistant 1 – Intermittent (Two Positions) (22000302)

Job Duties

This position may be telework eligible on a hybrid basis; the selected applicant must complete the initial training period prior to being eligible to telework. All requests to telework are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by ODM’s Chief Human Resources Officer.

Job Overview:
The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking customer service professionals to be part of our Provider Enrollment unit. The Provider Enrollment unit provides support, technical guidance, and complaint resolution to Ohio Medicaid providers.
As a Customer Service Assistant 1 in the Office of Operations, Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM), your responsibilities will include:

Handling inbound calls from Medicaid providers and answer their questions pertaining to a variety of topics including the enrollment process, application status, re-validation, and navigating the department’s internet web portal
Providing necessary follow-up to assure consistent maintenance of Medicaid enrollment process
Determining appropriate action to resolve identified problems
Screening applications and documentation for correctness and completeness regarding Medicaid guidelines for provider enrollment
Updating provider files and records, and updates data into database system


3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in office practices & procedures; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations or customer service to include techniques for dealing with difficult people; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in typing, keyboarding, data entry or word processing; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in operation of personal computer.

Or equivalent of Minimum Qualifications for Employment noted above.
