What is this career opportunity? State Print & Mail is looking for a Customer Service Representative to join our 6-person pre-press team. Comprised of three Design Specialists, two Customer Service Representatives and a Purchasing Specialist – pre-press is responsible for the intake of print orders and file preparation. In this role, you would check a shared email account for new requests, gather details from customers and enter data into our ticketing system to create a job order.
Our ideal candidate would have excellent customer service skills, be passionate about learning (specifically about print), thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be able to perform with the upmost attention to detail. There is a steep learning curve to become familiar with our print capabilities, processes, customers and their needs. You would be on the front line of communication and provide exceptional service to our customers. Your responsibilities would include the following:

Gather essential order details to ensure print production requirements are met
Educate customers and provide cost-effective solutions that meets their need
Create estimates and job tickets using our workflow software (Avanti Slingshot)

Qualifications:

What are we looking for? Education and Experience:

High school diploma or its equivalent; AND
Two years of job-related experience; OR
Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

It would be great if you have experience with:

Printing processes, terminology, specifications
Creating and preparing print ready files
Mail requirements and addressing standards

Competencies: Ability to:

Learn and follow established processes, instructions, and templates
Complete tasks with accuracy and high attention to detail
Work efficiently on multiple projects to meet deadlines
Communicate effectively and timely with customers who have varying print knowledge
Establish timelines to keep stakeholders involved and informed
Adjust priorities based on workload and production schedule
Verify details, problem solve and troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment
Operate with a high-level of customer service and professionalism
Be a self-starting individual that takes ownership of results and drives change
Perform with honesty and integrity, treating others with dignity and respect
Establish and maintain successful working relationships
Focus on the vision, mission, and goals of both the bureau and division
