Key Responsibilities
The Group Resilience function is responsible for delivering the capabilities of Business Continuity Management (BCM), Crisis Management, Operational Continuity in Resolution (OCIR) and the new regulatory driven requirements of Operational Resilience that deliver operationally resilient services which our customers and stakeholders can rely upon in BAU, during disruptions and including in Resolution.
The role of Assistant Manager, Policy Assurance, is responsible for the development and execution of measures that will provide assurance over the delivery of the resilience requirements as set out in the Client Service Resilience (CSR) Policy and supporting Standards
The role requires close collaboration with risk and control specialists across the 1st Line, 2nd Line and 3rd Lines of defence, including within Group Resilience itself and across Trust, Data and Resilience (TDR), Supply Chain Management (SCM), CFCC, T&I, Group Operational and Technology Risk, CISRO and in the business and functions to ensure all the different assurance measurements are correctly designed, operationalised and tested.

Support the analysis of the existing risk management practices to support the closure of any gaps identified through the assurance mechanisms, strengthening practices to meet the requirements of the Policy/Standards.
Support the development and management of the measurements and dashboards to comprehensively track the assurance landscape.


Help set up the required assurance processes, if not already in place, to aid the execution and adoption of the requirements, and ensure responsibilities around the policy and standards are being properly fulfilled.
Working with the risk specialists, support the implementation of improvements to these processes so that residual risks are within acceptable tolerances.
Continuously improve the productivity of processes and controls to realise efficiency, partnering with the different teams.

Review the Policies and Standards utilised by Group Resilience and recommend enhancements and improvements to these.
People and Talent

Work closely with other risk responsible stakeholders/partners developing positive relationships to work better together.

Risk Management

Maintain appropriate frameworks and procedures for monitoring, identifying, assessing and managing Operational Risks, in accordance with the ERMF.
Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to Group Resilience.


Assist in the design, implementation and delivery of effective governance across Group Resilience, ensuring all reasonable steps are being taken to discharge responsibilities in compliance with the Bank’s standards and guidance.
Provide input into the SMR Forum and TDR NFRC ensuring effective and efficient risk governance compliant with the Group standards.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Degree qualified with at least 5 years’ experience in operational risk and governance in financial services. A background in regulatory compliance would also be welcome.
A rigorous and analytical approach to risk management, with attention to detail and effective control execution and due diligence
Understanding of the Bank’s Control Frameworks (ERMF), risk processes (RCSA) and Committee Structure
Working experience in reviewing, implementing and enhancing policies and standards would be an advantage
Proven experience with co-ordination of many dependencies in a complex, large-scale environment
Some working experience with project management tools eg. JIRA and Clarity would be an advantage.
