Schylling is an award-winning toy company that has been putting smiles on the faces of children, and children-at-heart, for over 40 years. Our corporate office is in Massachusetts, but we are looking for SVP of Operations to spearhead our new warehouse operation in Lakewood WA. During Phase 1, you will be responsible for setting up all warehouse functions in the new facility and relocating our distribution center from Chino, CA. In Phase 2, once the facility is fully operational, you will be responsible for Schylling’s operational management of Customer Service, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Chain/Inventory Management functions. Reporting to the CEO and serving as an integral member of the senior management team, the SVP of Operations must be a mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process‐minded leader with experience in leading a management team in delivering measurable, cost‐effective results that make our vision a reality.
Phase 1 Responsibilities:
·Oversee the transition from our current 3PL to a new warehouse location.
·Assist with the design, planning, and start-up of a 158K sq. ft. warehouse and establish operational, security, and safety policies and procedures; ensuring that company values are practiced throughout the site at all levels.
·The ideal candidate would have established relationships with warehouse staff ready for employment or can attract talent and develop a team provided by recruiting sources.
Phase 2 Responsibilities:
·Oversee, direct, and organize the work of Operations, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Logistics and Distribution as well as any other activities assigned by the CEO.
Accountable for the performance and financial management of operations team, including budget preparation, and setting site level goals to reach planned financial and operational performance.
Manage, identify and drive execution of continuous improvement opportunities within supply chain operations based on results of operating and financial performance indicators.
Responsible for global sourcing and manufacturing initiatives.
Manage, identify and drive execution of global procurement capabilities and implement procurement strategies maximizing overall cost leverage.
Manage the global supply chain performance metrics to ensure operation performance goals are met, including management and implementation of inventory reduction strategies, product cost reductions, logistics reduction, and warehousing costs.
Ensure site operations strategy is aligned with company strategy and focused on continuous improvement.
Works closely with cross-functional teams to execute distribution strategies, allow seamless integration of systems with processes, provide effective labor planning and training, and ensure accurate measurement of results.
Demonstrates success through the achievement of facility and organization KPIs.
Produces and effectively communicates facility and individual performance goals.
Leads Warehouse/DC initiatives that improve current process efficiency, material flow, labor productivity, quality, safety, and space utilization.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders; establishes and maintains effective relationships with vendors and the community.
Regularly reports out on-site(s) financial and operational performance to executive leadership.
Model, ensure, and maintain direct, productive, and positive relationships between and among leaders and contributors.
Builds talent through coaching, empowering, and mentoring direct reports.
Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and reports these results to the CEO and CFO.
Minimum of fifteen operations experience in CPG or Toy industry including management of Warehouse/Distribution Center in an FMCG, distribution/order fulfillment operation.
Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a high growing organization.
Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask
Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
Experience in setting up a new warehouse/distribution center – layout and design, flow, process, and SOPs.
Demonstrated understanding of distribution, transportation, and inventory management principles and practices with a strong customer focus.
Knowledge and understanding of supply chain systems, procurement from contract manufactures, Inventory Planning, ERP, etc.)
Strong process improvement, problem-solving, analytical, and financial management skills.
Experience working with remote headquarters and functional resources, ability to build effective relationships, solve problems, and get things done.
Strong leadership and employee engagement skills
High standard of integrity and reliability; able to build trust and loyalty with others
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), capability to communicate at all levels of the organization

Pay: $200,000.00 – $220,000.00 per year
