Full Job Description :-
The Medical Records Clerk will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the importance of the patient medical record, possess computer proficiency in all software systems used in the medical records department, as well as demonstrate an understanding of medical record completeness for the continuation of patient care and working knowledge of all medical record operations.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the importance of the patient medical record
Retrieve medical records in accordance with unit specific guidelines in a timely manner
Process and account for patient medical records in accordance with unit specific guidelines
File medical record information in accordance with unit specific guidelines
Demonstrate computer proficiency in all software systems used in the medical record department
Ensure that transcription changes are made appropriately to keep physician deficiencies up to date
Demonstrates an understanding of medical record completeness for the continuation of patient care
Performs second analysis to ensure that all deficiencies have been satisfied
Demonstrate knowledge of all medical record operations
Respond to telephone requests for patient information as defined by unit specific guidelines
Maintain the medical record filing system for record organization and retrieval to meet departmental goals
Communicate effectively and works cooperatively with others.
Effectively communicate with scheduling team members and is open to feedback and suggestions in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
Minimum Qualifications Required
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Microsoft Word proficiency
Excellent communication skills
One year medical record department in Acute Care Setting
