About Green Valley Recreation, Inc.
Green Valley Recreation Inc. (GVR) is a membership-based 501(c)(4) non-profit that provides a wide variety of recreation, social, and leisure opportunities to approximately 80% of households in the Green Valley, AZ area. While GVR is not age-restricted, most members are over the age of 55. GVR owns and operates fourteen recreation centers including an award-winning, 24-court pickleball center.
GVR’s mission is: To provide excellent facilities and services that create opportunities for recreation, social activities, and leisure education to enhance the quality of our members’ lives.
Green Valley is approximately 25 minutes south of Tucson on I-19. The community is comprised of 120+ distinct Home Owners Associations, with housing available to fit every budget. Most HOAs are age-restricted, requiring at least one owner to be age 55 or older, and prohibiting permanent residence of children. Family-friendly and fast-growing Sahuarita adjoins the Green Valley area to the north.
GVR’s staff team enjoys a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and company-paid life insurance for our full-time staff. About the position:
Job Title: Event Assistant A&E
Reports To: Senior Arts & Entertainment Supervisor
The Event Assistant is responsible for assisting with all performing arts programs, including concerts, movies, dances, and special events.
Essential Job Functions
Provide the highest level of customer service to all patrons, artists, and staff.
Prepare for and set up events, physical set up of spaces, tables, etc., place signage, process tickets, prepare programs and other materials.
Provide volunteer management for events, ensuring there is adequate coverage for each event and communicating with volunteers.
Assist with the creation of marketing materials and distribute as directed, including hard copy materials and online marketing materials.
Perform box office functions, which include ticket sales and providing program information, and/or concession functions at events.
Record and process all money received through concessions and donations.
Maintain the inventory of A&E products, and order additional supplies as needed.
Serve as a backup House Manager when necessary.
Ancillary Job Functions
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
High School Diploma or GED.
Must maintain current CPR AED certification as directed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position.
Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and collaborate with all levels of management, staff, members, and the public.
Demonstrated initiative, motivation, and self-discipline to work independently and apply excellent decision-making skills.
Knowledge of, and experience with, computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Publisher.
Knowledge of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and other online media sites.
Ability to speak and understand the English language well.
Work Environment Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
General office conditions.
May be exposed to loud noise levels.
Must be able to perform outdoors in variable weather conditions.
