POSITION OVERVIEWComputer Support Technician 1Salary Range: Minimum – $49,000 Maximum – $79,400
Computer Support Technician 2Salary Range: Minimum – $54,700 Maximum – $88,600
Computer Support Technician 3Salary Range: Minimum – $60,200 Maximum – $97,500
Salary Note: For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range, however the starting salary may increase based on the individual’s education and experience.

is responsible for re-imagining how technology is used to streamline and simplify the services the Clerk’s Office provides to the citizens of Collier County. Whether it is assisting staff with hardware issues, deploying new equipment and technology, enhancing software to ensure our systems run at the optimal levels, protecting our data, or maintaining our networks and servers/cloud-based systems, the staff of the Information Technology Division plays a vital role. The Clerk’s Office is committed to utilizing innovative technology solutions to ensure the Clerk’s Office is working smarter and more efficiently with one simple goal in mind, ensure the need of the citizens of Collier County are met.
Example of Duties

Monitor, document and respond quickly to incoming requests relate to IT issues.
Maintain computer systems and act as support if any system goes down.
Responsible for PC’s, Printers, Servers, and related equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, etc.).
Maintain user PCs, including upgrades and configuration as needed.
Assist with onboarding of new users.
Keep inventory of all equipment, software, and license users.
Test and evaluate new computer hardware and software as directed and make recommendations to management
Provide telephone and occasional in-person support to other agency personnel and the public in the use of Clerk provided technologies
Install, configure, and upgrade PC software.
Ability to frequently lift and carry items up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift and move items up to 40 lbs.

Certification or experience with: A+, Network+, MCSA, Office 365, VPN, PowerShell, Windows, installation, network troubleshooting, ticket management and time management preferred.
QualificationsAll levels: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree in a technology related field.
ExperienceComputer Support Technician 2 – 1 year of experience in a technology-based support role.Computer Support Technician 3 – 2 years of experience in a technology-based support role.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional Information Technology experience on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. Applicants who do not possess the required experience may substitute additional education with 30 semester hours of credit equaling one years of required experience.
Supplemental Information
Driver’s License: Selected candidates will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in Florida only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of up to 40 lbs. Tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard or workstation. Tasks might also include operating a vehicle when necessary
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals. Required ability to communicate orally and in writing.
