Legal Support Specialist

Hourly Rate: $18.9965 per hour
Job Status: Regular Full-Time; Non-exempt; Non-union

The Legal Support Specialist sill perform legal administrative support duties involving criminal justice information.
This position is subject to pre-employment fingerprint criminal history background check.

Core duties and responsibilities to include:
Assist in preparation and maintenance of confidential legal case files, including data entry
Process orders from the court, generating pleadings and duplicating electronic evidence
Process and distribute mail, documents, and electronic communications
Provide administrative support to attorneys and interns including scanning, making copies, and scheduling appointments
Complete E-file legal pleadings through Montana State e-file system
Record, file, maintain, and dispose of original records
Serve as backup to answer and direct inquiries as first point of contact for the City Attorney”s Office
Requirements for this job include:
Two (2) years of administrative support experience in legal and/or criminal justice setting
Or any relevant combination of education and experience
Verified acceptable fingerprint criminal history background check
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of criminal justice information recordkeeping practices, public records maintenance and retention requirements
Thorough knowledge of legal office procedures and practices
Skill in utilizing office equipment, including personal computers, copy machines, printers and telephones
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, database and web-based applications
Effective communication skills
Organization abilities, including handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
Strong customer service skills, including problem-solving and resolving conflicts
Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals and groups
