Little Red Services, Inc. (LRS) was founded in 1983 and operates in all fields on the North Slope of Alaska. We are based in Deadhorse where our employees live and work while on the job. Our 80-room man camp offers private rooms with private bathrooms, a workout room, an entertainment space, and catering services. Lodging, food, and Personal Protective Equipment are provided to you by LRS. We also have a 5,000 ft2 maintenance shop. LRS Facility Operator
JOB SUMMARY
The Facility Operator will be responsible for the safe operations of the processing and utility equipment used for the Alaska Methane Hydrates facility. This position is responsible for carrying out the requests from the Board Operator to include the operational inspections of the rotating and fixed equipment when placed in service. They will be responsible for asset management and record keeping of the fluids and equipment. This position will assist and support all incident investigations and MOCs, including completing PSSRs before equipment is placed in service. This position will directly report to the Board Operator and will be supported by LRS North Slope Manager, LRS Mechanics, and LRS Safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Must comply with all AES safety policies, procedures, and Alaska Safety Handbook 2022.
Assist in the handover and startup of the facility from Construction. Will be responsible for walkdowns of the equipment during construction and verify punch list and all MOCs are complete before startup.
Exhibit HSE leadership and compliance by working with LRS HSET advisors to ensure all crew members have proper training needed for the facility. Support BST participation and ensure all hands are PSM trained.
Knowledgeable in all aspects of routine and emergency operations of the plant. Must be able tread and understand P&ID’s.
Support the development of the SOPs for the Facility
Anchorage-led Team is responsible for the SOPs and support from the Facility Operator is needed for the integrity of the SOP.
Review of operating asset’s preventative maintenance strategy
Maintain the preventative maintenance program in the Asset Manager
Will be responsible for the operation of gas fed turbine generators
Including the electric load and distribution system
Fuel supply system with dew-point controls
Will be responsible for the glycol distribution heat protection system
Heat management system, pumps for distribution, and back pressure control valves for balancing of the system.
Water disposal will be a combination of onsite and offsite
This position will be responsible for the onsite disposal equipment and supporting the loading of water for offsite disposal.
Provide clear communications with the Board Operator for all activity requests and responses to event alarms.
Must be able to communicate all aspects of the operation, including incidents to work groups in Deadhorse, Anchorage, and Japan through typical business communication types, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.
Maintain a positive work environment in the facility.
Ensure all crew members have an open line of communication for raising concerns without fear of retaliation or retribution.
Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Eight years related experience working as a Facility Operator or Pad Operator on the North Slope.
Must be Red Book Waste Disposal trained.
Must have North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid driver’s license required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Process Tech Degree
Asset Management experience with SAP or Maximo
