Full Job Description :-
THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN GIRDWOOD, ALASKA.
Main Duties:
Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to OSHA guidelines
Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
Lead the charge on foster a culture of compliance and safety through strong partnership with various departments
Other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements:
Proven experience as safety manager
Deep understanding of State and Federal health and safety regulations
Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
Excellent organizational and motivational skills
Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred
Recent Experience in occupational health and safety
Physical demands and work environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to lift 10 to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include: close focus, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Intermediate level Skiing or Snowboarding ability or ability to learn.
