What Success Looks Like In This Job

Under the general direction of the Airport Director/Deputy Director, the FBO Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Fixed Base Operation (FBO) including financial performance, customer experience, line operations, facility and equipment maintenance, health, safety and environmental functions; performs direct supervision of FBO employees and performs other duties as assigned. The FBO Manager will act as a company liaison in matters related to the airport community and will promote a positive team environment to better serve our customers.

Examples of Duties for Success

Provides strong leadership to FBO team through clear communication, motivation, and encouragement; structured and organized actions; positive work environment to ensure highest possible service levels are achieved and employees are encouraged, motivated and reach their potential.
Direct management, operational oversight and responsibility of the general aviation terminal and flight support operations.
Manages and drives the financial performance of the FBO, including revenue, expenditures, and appropriate staffing levels to meet or exceed budget and goals.
Ensures friendly and efficient service to our customers and adherence to all customer service, line service, maintenance, and ground support operating procedures.
Ensure aircraft parking locations are marked properly and that appropriate ground service equipment is in good operating condition and in close proximity.
Review all completed work orders for line services functions and that accurate completion data, including bill back information, is input on a timely basis.
Oversee all aspects of fuel operations, including the safe, secure, and accurate operation of the fuel trucks; management of the fuel inventory to conserve fuel costs and margins and ensure fuel quality is maintained; ensures routine inspections and repairs are done in a timely manner and logs are kept in strict compliance with appropriate regulations.
Assist in the development and maintenance of the Policies and Procedures Manual for Customer Service Representatives and line-related activities.
Develop innovative ideas to improve and enhance FBO operations, new business plans with capital requirements and anticipated performance.
Perform leadership functions such as conducting annual reviews, making hiring decisions, and managing the performance of direct reports which includes mentoring and skill development.
Coordinate and provide management reporting as requested.
Regularly inspect all FBO facilities and equipment and coordinate repair and replacement.
Ensures that the FBO complies with all workplace safety, environmental, and other applicable regulations (ex: OSHA, EPA, Airport).
Other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications for Success

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Skilled at delivering effective presentations to top management and public groups if requested.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to train staff in the same.
Knowledgeable in general, business, and commercial aviation operations, inclusive of fueling.
Knowledgeable in the operation of MS Office Suite programs and database programs.

More Qualifications for Success

Valid drivers license
Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random Drug Screening, Background Check, and Employment Verification
At least three (3) years of FBO experience
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Strong initiative, execution, and organizational skills
Strong business acumen, persuasion, and negotiation skills
Must have a strong commitment to results
Must be familiar with FBO operations and processes.

Working conditions:

Requires 24-hour/7-day on-call status.
Able to work, nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
Capable of working in all weather conditions, including snow, rain and hot conditions.
Able to lift 50 pounds, push, climb, and walk for the majority of the workday.
Able to operate fuel trucks and snow plow equipment
Exposure to and handling hazardous materials.

Weekly Hours – At least 40 hours Employees qualify for Health benefits (medical, dental, vision, Life/ADD, disability), the mandatory 9% Pension enrollment and the optional 457b deferred compensation package. They start accruals for Vacation and Sick.
