Talent Acquisition Specialist
Ada Developers Academy is a non-profit, tuition-free coding school for women and gender-diverse adults. We focus on serving low-income people, underrepresented minorities, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our program consists of two highly immersive parts: six months of focused instruction, and five months of internship at partner companies, where students refine their skills working on real-world code.
About This Position
We are looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to own Ada’s full-cycle talent-acquisition (TA) process, including strategic planning, implementing current best practices, sourcing/screening/recommending candidates, managing the applicant tracking system, and building / strengthening collaborative relationships with hiring managers. The successful candidate will be an integral member of a newly established People Operations team, reporting to the Senior People Operations Manager, and will act as an ambassador of Ada’s mission and values. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a salary of $90,000 and excellent benefits.
Core Responsibilities

Collaborate with the VP of People, Senior People Operations Manager and Hiring Managers to draft job descriptions and develop interview plans
Post and manage job postings on applicant tracking system
Conduct initial phone screen interviews on behalf of the Hiring Managers
Act as main point of contact for applicants during all stages of the interview and hiring process
Integrate and continually support DEI best practices in the Talent Acquisition lifecycle
Prepare reports and updates on a regular basis
Facilitate interview loop prep and debriefs
Manage applicant tracking system to ensure a timely and efficient experience for candidates and Hiring Managers
Recommend strategies and practices that will contribute to Ada’s long-term hiring initiatives
Support the development of Ada’s employer brand and proactively seek opportunities to amplify Ada’s employer profile

Essential Qualifications

5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably at a nonprofit or tech start-up
Knowledge of, experience with, and passion for DEI-centered recruitment processes
Experienced and knowledgeable regarding legal requirements and best practices for recruiting and hiring, including EEO, confidentiality and data security, candidate background screening requirements, etc..
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to accomplish objectives and multitask in a fast-paced environment during a period of rapid growth
Enthusiastic support of Ada’s mission and demonstrated embodiment of Ada’s values in a professional environment
